Nickname: Jitterbug (although he doesn’t know how to
jitterbug!)
Job: Front end on 14 car. Help out on pit on race day. I
help out Rodney on pit row.
Years with Foyt: Beginning of ’07, was working on A.J.’s
Silver Crown cars and then last year joined the race team.
Worked on stock car teams in Texas before that.
What is your favorite thing about working here? The
atmosphere is good, we all get along here. The hours are long,
but it’s not that hard. A.J. is a nice man to work for.
Got any advice for future mechanics? If you come work
here you’ve got to be prepared to work long hours, especially
when it comes to race time. If you don’t like racing you don’t
belong.
When did you decide you wanted to race? I grew up with
it. My dad and his friends had stock cars when I was growing up,
on dirt. I went to the race track every week. It’s just been in
my blood my whole entire life. I’ve always been a mechanic. My
father was a mechanic.
Off the Track: I drag race, but I just have my car at
home just sitting. That’s the only racing I’ve done myself.
What do you drive? 2009 Ford pickup truck.
Do you fix your own truck? When I have time!
Describe your Perfect day: When everything goes smooth.
Winning the Indy 500 would be a good day. That would top all of
my racing.
